Happiness of Being - The Teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi: Self-enquiry: the underlying philosophy can be clearly understood only by putting it into practice

Happiness of Being - The Teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi: Self-enquiry: the underlying philosophy can be clearly understood only by putting it into practice
NEED FOR SELF-ENQUIRY
-----------------------------
Thinking is a function of the mind.Thinking is a response of memory which is a limited material information stored in the brain. When the thought which arises from the interaction of
reflected consciousness(Abhasa)and memory,an illusory separative feeling(Bheda Bhranthi)arises resulting in reativity and duality with the creation of concept of time.Thought is a self isolation process.Though we talk about universal brotherhood and loving-the-neighbour-idea,when we act from the ego there is always separative feeling resulting in conflict and misery.Beliefs, scholorship, experiences give us a false sense of security and prompt us to do more self-centred activity. The so called mental discipline which is supported by all religions, strengthens the ego.Mental discipline is a response of conditioning,so it is never free.Such response leads to continuation and strengthening of ego(false i).Supression, imitation, domination, conformity are always there in mental discipline.
Beliefs, scholorship, experiences, mental discipline,ambition,eye-on-fruit-of-action,living in the network of becoming detroy us.
Unless there is cessation of all these, there will be no self-revelation of Truth.Unless we do self-enquiry in which our attention is directed selfwards rather than as continous flow of our attention from self toward the objects, there is no cesation of all these degenerating factors.Truth is revealed more in the process of self-enquiry.So self-enquiry is the first priority in human life.
